Glossary
Doc Bro dialect, Wall of Fame, whambulance, bro translation, and other in-jokes defined.
- Dr. Trust Me Bro (DTMB)
- This site: independent journalistic and research reporting on health influencers (“Doc Bros”), presented with wry humor and backed by peer-reviewed literature. Memorable, readable evidence to help people spot bad actors.
- Doc Bro
- A wellness influencer who presents as a medical authority, MD, Chiropractor, ND, “Dr.” from a non-physician degree, or vibes-only coach in a white coat. We analyze their official public material only.
- Chiropractor (“Dr.”)
- A state-licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, spinal and musculoskeletal care, not an MD/DO physician license. The “Dr.” reflects a doctoral degree in chiropractic, which boards define narrowly; when the same title fronts hormone panels, functional-medicine reversals, or general internal-medicine advice, that is often credential inflation, not expanded scope.
- Cook them with their own words
- Our method: quote the Doc Bro’s exact public claims, tie them to timestamps or page dates, then contrast with literature, often with wry humor so the mismatch sticks in memory.
- Wall of Fame
- Tongue-in-cheek hall of fame for pseudo-docs and heavy funnel operators, high manipulation, low credential legitimacy. Celebration of the grift, not clinical excellence.
- Wall of Shame
- Backhanded praise for evidence-based MD/DO physicians and verified licensed clinicians who stay in scope and cite studies and guidelines. “Shame” because they refuse to sell detox stacks on Instagram.
- Living report
- An ever-growing dossier of dated quotes, transcript snippets, and analysis links for one Doc Bro. Each new official URL you submit can append material.
- Doc Bro dossier
- Aggregate profile for one Doc Bro: recurring miracle “cures,” signature manipulation tactics, scores, and links to every completed analysis.
- Dossier nickname
- Satirical case-file name assigned after analysis (e.g. Dr. Panel Profit, The Gut Guru), a pun on their niche, not their legal name.
- Bro translation
- Plain-English restatement of a satirical or technical summary, what the evidence section “actually means” without the bit.
- Whambulance
- Wall of Fame dispute form. Doc Bros who want off the wall submit from a business email matching their practice domain; verified challenges are posted publicly.
- Manipulation playbook
- Timestamped cards flagging persuasion tactics (fear mongering, false authority, lab upsells, undisclosed #ad, etc.) with quotes from the source.
- Supplements, labs & grift map
- Financial-conflict section: products pitched, panels upsold, kickback patterns, and whether paid partnerships were disclosed vs FTC / Sunshine Act context.
- Bro Energy (score)
- 0–100 heuristic for Doc Bro delivery style, urgency, “they don’t want you to know,” parasocial hype. Not a medical grade.
- Deep dive request
- Nomination form to prioritize a Doc Bro for expanded archiving and analysis when you do not have a single URL handy.
- Fight the disinformation
- Community map of public threads where a Wall of Fame Doc Bro’s claims are spreading, with copy-paste links back to cited DTMB reports.
- Share your story
- Testimonial submissions from people who fell for Doc Bro tactics and want DTMB to tell their experience, email mystory@drtrustmebro.com. See the My story page.
- Under the hood
- Public documentation of our analysis prompts, pipeline, and how we pick transcription and models, plus how to suggest prompt improvements.
